Description

• Obtains patient history and performs physical exams, as indicated by the visit time and patient history
• Practice independently
• Evaluates patient’s ability to provide informed consent for gender-affirming hormone therapy
• Educates patients on risks and benefits of hormones
• Orders lab work and recognizes deviations from the normal
• Develops patients plans
• Recognizes complex cases and refers to specialists as needed
• Collaborates with community resources
• Documents accurately and clearly, including coding
• Prescribes hormones, including controlled substances
• Performs venipunctures for lab work orders
• Accurately orders and reviews lab work
• Maintains patient confidentially
• Teaches patients how to perform injections
• Supervises clinic staff
• Recognizes ethics, legal, and professional issues pertaining to high-risk populations
• Interprets evidence-based studies and new and existing research pertaining to gender-affirming hormone therapy
• Creates protocols to improve clinic compliance
• Collaborates with clinic administrator and organization board members
• Maintain clinic inventory and order supplies as needed
• Answer patient emails and phone calls
• Room patients including vitals, medical history, allergies, etc
• Notify patient of lab results
• Assure all state and federal qualifications are being met in regard to lab work, CLIA, medical requirements, etc to maintain an independent clinic

Requirements

• LGBTQ+ or alllyship perspective
• Licensed as an RN/APRN in the state of ND. MN license also preferred. Certified as an FNP, CNM, WHNP preferred
• Active DEA license preferred
• Current CPR certification

Work Conditions

• Tuesdays from 10 am to 6 pm
• Work away from site as needed to perform job duties in a timely manner (approximately 2 – 5 hrs per week)
